CONSTRUCTION

Our cohousing project will be designed with sustainability at its core, prioritising eco-friendly construction. Whether it's a new build or a renovation of an existing building, where possible we will use locally sourced, sustainable materials, energy-efficient systems, and renewable energy sources. Our aim is to incorporate features that reduce energy consumption, such as green roofs, rainwater harvesting, and high insulation.

SHARED SPACES

By sharing certain facilities, we not only encourage social interaction between residents, but we are also able to reduce the size of our individual living spaces. Living in smaller spaces means reducing our individual energy bills, and allows for a larger number of living units in the community. Shared spaces will include a laundry, guest rooms, a communal kitchen and a multi-functional common room. This space can serve as a place for residents to meet, work or study, as well as an extra space for children to play.

ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY LIVING

The Phoenix development is designed to lessen its residents' impact on the planet, prioritising pedestrians over cars, encouraging local wildlife in its shared green spaces and providing excellent facilities for recycling and repurposing.

Within the cohousing community, residents can come together to create many more ways to live sustainably, for example by pooling transport, buying food in bulk, or sharing an organic garden.

SHARED RESOURCES

Along with shared spaces, residents will also be able to share resources. This means less buying of bulky goods, from woodworking equipment to gardening tools and bicycles.
